New Korean Drama I've been obsessed over a few weeks and maybe a month now. From the "famous not so famous" ABC drama, Designated Survivors but this is a Korean version by TVN.
I used to watch the American version and then I'd tried the Korean version. Well, I honestly could say thumbs UP! to The Korean version which was far better than the U.S version. I definitely love the plot and the theme they use including all the characters. Both are flawlessly developed including the for a small role. This drama has everything I wish for. A good man with a good marriage also stays true to his principal. PARK MU JIN by Ji Jin Hee. Oh, I love him~
Again, Ji Jin Jee brings out the best of Acting President we or I ever want. He was portrayed as a good man from the beginning until the end considering how he kept being pushed into the corner almost in every decision he made. And as former Researcher/Professor, those set decisions didn't stop him from searching for his owns. It's amazing watching him struggle to make a decision, "the third choice" despite trapped between the 2 set options he was given. With his caliber as a former Environment researcher and a professor where demand him to find an answer or clue from all different perspectives indeed helped him in forming and govern Korean in a very clever way especially concerning about the bombing incident. He is far from a "typical political" person because he never wishes to be involved in political worlds from the start.
For the American version, what I see from Thomas Kirkman, he as if ready when all the things happen. This is what I like about the Korean Version. Park Mu Jin was portrayed as someone who had been thrown into the hell without any preparation.
The ending also so good. When at first, he was forced to accept the fate of the country in his hand, he also struggles by learning the truth and ugly the political world are. The best decision he ever made was taking responsibility for the bombing incident by step down from running for a Presidential Election, and the drama ends with him willingly chooses to join the President Election for a second time as honest and fair.
Oh, if only they have a season 2! With deeper plot how he struggles racing for the President of Korea. The new scandal "not about his marriage but deeper concerning the bombing incident? How he need to retain himself from being greedy? Who knows? unlike American Version with scandal and plot sleeping with a woman, ect, I rather Korean Version based and stay true to the Good Husband/Wife and Family.
IF ONLY TVN GIVE THIS DRAMA A CHANCE FOR SEASON 2, if not, I'm satisfied.
